Including how to add seat, explaining pro-rated charges and billing cycle changes

To upgrade your account, navigate to Settings → Billing

  1. Select "View plans" option from the billing page

  2. Select next action from following options:

    1. Upgrade from Startup plan to Business plan

    2. or to "Talk to sales" if you'd like to upgrade to Enterprise plan

  3. If you're selecting upgrade

    1. Startup to Business
      iClosed will generate separate invoice, with prorated charges (explained in this article here), and charge the credit card set on your file immediately, so you can start using higher tier as soon as payment is processed.

    2. For Enterprise upgrades
      as soon as your call is finished with the Sales rep(or on agreed date), we'll process upgrade per agreement and your credit card will be charged pro-rated for difference between previous plan and Enterprise.


Changing billing period from Monthly to Yearly

In case you'd like to switch to a Yearly billing cycle, no matter if you're changing the subscription plan or not, you'll be able to do so from ​ Settings → Billing menu as well.

  1. Click on "Switch to yearly" button

  2. New window will pop up with

    1. detailed breakdown of the full yearly plan cost and

    2. pro-rated calculation on how much you'd need to pay now

  3. Your subscription start date will change to date when billing cycle changed, and next renewal date will be adjusted to the same date next year.

Annual subscription will remain active until the end of your newly set billing cycle.

Adding user seats

Adding User seats during the current billing cycle will also affect your billing, in case you're adding more user seats than it's defined by your subscription plan, of course.

Adding a User is available from several pages:

No matter the option you select from above, next window you'll see will have same following options for adding a user seat:

  1. Add new user email to send the invite out

  2. Select a role for the new user

  3. and optionally, to select team you'd like to assign new user to, in case you've previously created a Team inside of Settings → User ManagementTeams tab

  4. Option to add more users, by clicking on "Add another" button, in case you'd like to invite more than one, in bulk.

In the same window, you'll see total number of seats included, and information if there's going to be additional costs for adding more users.

In case you've already filled out all seats, you'll see a different notification that
"You will be charged at a prorated amount for each additional user"

Adding a user at additional cost is available at any moment, during the subscription billing period, and costs will be pro-rated (explained here in detail).
