Invitee is receiving "Could not find requested event" when clicks on add to calendar on call confirmation widget or confirmation email

"Could not find requested event" is an error message provided by Google when it's not possible to add event to the Google Calendar. Here're several scenarios possible when this message may appear:


Scenario 1 - lead has entered Gmail A, while Gmail B is set as default on the device

Example:

  • Email app on invitee's device: iCloud Mail where confirmation email lands (connected with Gmail account A)

  • Calendar app on on invitee's device: Google Calendar App connected with Gmail account B)

Summary: When invitee clicks YES on the confirmation email or to add to calendar from the call confirmation widget to accepts event invite, his device redirects him to Google Calendar app connected with a different Gmail account than the one provided on the form and Google will return error "Could not find requested event".

Solution: Invitee should have same Google account connected on both email and Google Calendar app or to log in to Google calendar with Gmail account entered on the scheduling form (that is connected with email app).


Scenario 2 - Event was cancelled before invitee accepted invite

If the invitee tries to confirm attendance via confirmation email or to add event to his Google Calendar after the event is cancelled, Google will show error message "Could not find requested event" as the event doesn't exist on host calendar anymore.

This can happen when:

  1. iClosed user has automation turned on to auto-cancel calls as per specific criteria.

  2. iClosed user has cancelled the call before invitee accepted invite.

  3. Invitee has auto-decline set in Working Hours settings in his Google calendar and if the time slot selected falls outside of the working hours, his Google Calendar is cancelling the event automatically.
